SHALAKA GUJAR

Shalaka completed her LL.B. from University of Mumbai and LL.M. from University of SNDT, Mumbai.

She has been practicing Law since 2009 and has worked at various areas of litigation like Civil Litigation, Family Law and Business Law.

Though, her conduct is very friendly towards the clients, she is zealous and fearless in her approach when it comes to getting the best possible results for them.

Shalaka enjoys working in area of Family Law and Civil Litigation. She has appeared in many complicated Family Law cases involving complex issues like substance abuse, domestic abuse and dealt with CAS, OCL, mental health counsellors and victim services. Shalaka believes in practicing Collaborative Family Law and using litigation only when it is absolute necessary. She strongly believes in balancing an aggressive and zealous approach in litigation with a cooperative and respectful manner when clients’ rights are at stake in order to avoid unnecessary disputes or costly delays.

Before moving to Canada, she has practiced in India for over 10 years in various areas of law. She was a Panel Counsel for Union of India, Central Goods and Service Tax Department and Indian Railways. She has represented clients in high stake litigation. While practising in India, Shalaka has handled many employment cases namely wrongful dismissals, sexual harassments at workplace, Employees’ Provident Fund matters, employees’ pension issues, gender discrimination matters and maternity benefit issues for the organisations like Union of India and Indian Railways as their Standing Panel Counsel. Shalaka represents her clients with conviction, integrity, and personalized approach. She always like to ensure that her clients are comfortable and informed at every stage of the process.
